Apple just released the first public beta for iOS 13.4.5 today, Thursday, April 16. This update comes one day after Apple released 13.4.5 developer beta 2, which itself arrived just over two weeks after 13.4.5 dev beta 1.

Apple released this public beta at 10 a.m. PDT. While Apple normally releases public betas at this time, it usually waits a day or more after a beta version's first developer update. This practice is meant to weed out any massive bugs or issues with developers before the update hits the much larger pool of public testers. What's interesting is this is the first public beta for iOS 13.4.5, while Apple has already released two developer betas.

If we assume public beta 1 is the same build as dev beta 2, it won't offer much in the way of new features and changes. That said, 13.4.5 dev beta 1 didn't add many new features as well. The update only added a new feature for sharing Apple Music songs to Instagram and Facebook stories. To its credit, it does work well, and puts Apple Music up with other streaming apps like Spotify, Shazam, and Pandora. All other changes and discoveries were under-the-hood.

Check out the release notes for 13.4.5 public beta below:

To download and install iOS 13.4.5 public beta, sign up through Apple's beta site, download and install the configuration profile, then update over the air. If you already have the profile, go to Settings –> General –> Software Update to begin the installation of the latest beta build, or you can wait until it installs automatically if "Automatic Updates" is enabled.
